Mike Partain didn’t believe the rumors about a place called Baby Heaven until he visited a Jacksonville, N.C., graveyard and wandered into a section where newborns were laid to rest….

What a tragic story! Our nations defenders deserve better. I have not seen this documentary, but I will as soon as I can.

This is a shot of 3100 Clarendon Blvd. It dominates the Clarendon VA skyline. This building gives me the creeps for some reason. Maybe that has to do with all the security because the Defense Intelligence Agency has offices here. I can imagine that a high resolution image of me rest in a computer somewhere in that building of me taking a picture of that building a block away. Maybe I’m paranoid :-) I won’t complain when the super heavy security is gone after the DIA moves as part of the BRAC realignment. I purposely avoid walking past the loading dock of this building, the automatic weapons do not make me feel safe, although they are in the hands of the good guys :-)

Put your fingerprint scanners away. Stand aside iris measurers. Buttocks are the new way to prove who you are.

A team of Japanese scientists claim their pressure sensor sheet can accurately identify an individual’s backside and when placed on a driver’s seat could be used as a last line of defence to stop someone else driving away your motor.  Read the full article

It will be interesting to see if they can actually bring this technology about. Just think of the possibilities. When your $200,000 car of the future is car jacked at gunpoint, the car automatically knows someone else is in the car.  The car locks the doors, cuts off and calls the police! That would be cool! :-)

I walk by this construction site every night. It’s the first time I have seen work at night since the sink hole incident a few months ago. Looks like they are playing catch-up on the side of the building that had the sink hole, it’s way behind rest of the building. BTW those people who lived in the apartment building beside the construction site have not been allowed to live in the building since the night of the incident.
